The Galta Kund is a holy water reservoir believed to never run dry, even in the harshest summers. Pilgrims from all over India visit this site to take a dip in the purifying waters, which are said to cleanse the soul of sins. Then there is the Hanuman Temple, dedicated to the monkey god Hanuman, where you can observe devotees offering prayers alongside playful monkeys basking in the morning sun. Be sure to keep an eye on your belongings, as the monkeys can be quite naughty!

• October–March: The best time to visit Jaipur, with pleasant weather perfect for exploring outdoor sites like forts, palaces, and markets. The Jaipur Literature Festival (January) and Holi (March) are busy periods.
• April–June: Summer season has soaring temperatures (up to 45°C). Not ideal for sightseeing, but great for discounts on hotels!
• July–September: Monsoon brings a bit of relief from the heat, making the city lush and beautiful. Fewer crowds, lower prices, and Teej Festival (August) make it a unique time to visit.

Money in Jaipur (India): (INR)

If you’re visiting Jaipur you’ll need Indian Rupees (INR). To get INR at the best rates, I highly recommend getting a WISE card before you go. This allows you to convert money into Indian Rupees (or any other currency!) at the best rates and then spend on your Wise card as though it were a local bank card or withdraw cash in India without hidden fees. International Flights to Jaipur: Jaipur has direct international connections to select cities, including Abu Dhabi (an airport I love to transit through) with Etihad Airways, as well as flights from Dubai, Bangkok, and Kuala Lumpur. However, many international travelers prefer to fly into Delhi or Mumbai first due to better connectivity and cheaper fares.

How to Find the Cheapest Flights to Jaipur: The best way to find the cheapest flights is to use a dedicated flight search engine like Skyscanner. This platform compare fares across multiple airlines, helping you find the best deals. Booking in advance, using fare alerts, and considering nearby airports (like Delhi) can also help you save money.

• Domestic Flights: I personally flew from Goa to Jaipur with IndiGo, a popular budget airline with regular flights.
• Trains: If you’re flying into Delhi, the train is a great option for a 4-5 hour journey to Jaipur.
• Buses: You can book budget-friendly sleeper buses from cities like Delhi using the RedBus app, a reliable platform for online bus ticket bookings.

How to get around Jaipur

The easiest way to get around Jaipur is by auto-rickshaw (tuk tuk). You can book these using Uber – which will give you the best price! – but note that these are cash only. If not using Uber, you’ll need to be prepared to negotiate the price, as haggling is standard here, even for locals. You can hail tuk tuks for individual rides, or make an agreement with a driver (or via your accommodation) to hire one driver for the full day. There are also taxis available, which have AC but are more expensive.
